Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > Resource: Master list of needed 3D models > Wooden Barrel Again for reference, here's a master list of models we still need for the game. Any of the models here are open for submissions - if you'd like to model some of these, you can just post a shot under this task. We could also use concept art (or concept photos) for any of these to help in the modeling phase.
This list doesn't cover character models or geometry elements (such as walls, elevators and other structural elements of the base). It's still incomplete too, so feel free to suggest stuff you think should be found in the base!

Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > Great/terrible original features in other games > Free choice vs. Fate In this task you can post any outstanding features from other games - whether really great and innovative or something completely abyssmal and game-wrecking. The motivation for this is, rather than planning on blatantly copying everything from others, simply to discover some clever (or less clever) ideas that others have thought of and that we can learn from somehow. :)
It doesn't matter if the game is old or new, nor whether you think it's (overall) good or bad, as long as it has some feature you thought of as noteworthy.
It's helpful if the genre of the game is somehow related to ours, but I'm not setting any strict rules for this - if you can think of any way your idea could be of use to us, don't hesitate to post it.

While having a game let you take part in an epic adventure is great. Writting your own adventure is often so much better.
While I'm not saying go 100% open sandbox. Multiple story paths, and endings is something that helps the entertainment and replayability of a game.
Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > Design: Turn-based combat pt.1 > Valkyria Chronicles Now that it's public information that we're going turn-based with our combat system, I can finally start bouncing ideas with the community about this part of the game as well. This is a central enough part of the game (especially for the soldier character -sections of it) that I find it really crucial to get all the opinions I can from you people.
We'll start nice and simple: What are the most/least favourite turn-based combat systems you've come across in games? What about individual features? What inspires and what frustrates you about such combat systems? You can also already suggest ideas you think would fit our game especially well.
As a reminder, the game will be third person with an overhead camera that you can freely rotate but not zoom (at least not for now), the attached screenshot (captured from unity editor) will give some idea of the camera distance.

Coming out about the same time as Fallout 3 (VATS) This is one game that I don't think got as much attention. While it very much is a turn based game They actually merge turn based and 3rd person action genres very well.
It breaks down like this, You pick the unit you want to move. That unit has a limited distance it's allowed to move during the turn (based on a stat). while moving other units can get rectionary shots on you if they see you. This means that moving for cover, crouching, and crawling have a very real and immediate benefit to them.
You're also given A certain number of Action points. This is what you use to shoot, bandage yourself, reload or whatever.
It can be a bit frustrating at times when you realize too late you don't have enough movement to move out somewhere take a shot, then get back to cover. However this is also part of the strategy of the system
I've been a long time fan of Turn based strategies, and this is a system that's not gotten a lot of exposure, so will lend it'self to feeling a bit more unique. I highly recommend. I fear I've not explained the system as well as I could have though and would recommend looking up game play video's or trying it out at some point for a better feel of what I mean.

Musical instrument. Actually enjoy doing this one especially after constructing the gramaphone
Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > General ideas & suggestions > Story points of view The Iron Sky folks have a task like this, so I reckon we need one too. General ideas that do not really fit under any of the other tasks are welcome here - I'm certain you will get a lot of ideas that we aren't clever enough to ask for.

Guys, sorry, too much post here and I am somehow lazy to read at the moment, so please forgive me if someone told this before, but, you need a story from different points of view, like initializing campaigns in war games...
You may have the soldier that wish to flee for freedom after the war, or other staff member, Scientist that step against the massacrer and use his skills instead of bullets, a spy from the British, an Elder One that lurks around eating people (love Lovecraft :o)). These could be parallel gameplay.

forgot to rotate the funnel to make it come upwards a bit.. will change that.
Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > How would you like to be featured in the game? > Leonard von Pinhell To give the community something extra in exchange for the ideas and support, we are thinking of featuring our WreckAMovie production members in the game itself (instead of only in the credits). Now, there's a whole lot of ways of doing this, and this is why we would like your ideas about the matter.
It'll be hard to put you in as characters with your own names, since it might feel weird to the player: where do all these Nazis with non-German names come from? We could, however, make characters with a German name and personality similar to yours as well as something extra (a bit of dialogue from you, perhaps, or some recognizable special item the character carries, some clues in the character's apartment or bunk).
Another even more subtle approach would be to use your names whenever we have in-game messages and dialogue mentioning foreign people (from Nazi perspective). You could become Allied scientists, generals, spies, prisoners, test subjects,... Here, again, we are glad to hear you about how you'd like to be presented - as a pacifist hero doctor or a vicious war criminal. :D
Finally, we could do this through a secret level of some sort - an easter egg like the head of John Romero on a stick in Doom II (that you have to approach with cheat codes to find). This would allow making characters named exactly after you and since it would not be part of the actual storyline (it could be some unlockable gamemode, for example), we wouldn't have to worry about it's effect on game balance or immersion.
Nothing is stopping us from using several of these approaches alongside each other, this might be a nice touch too to your own game experience - you'd never know where in the game your name might pop up.
Things to consider:
* Preserve the alternate WWII atmosphere - if every other character speaks in leetspeek and drops an ipod nano the easter egg is going a bit too far. :)
* A major part of the game takes place in the Nazi base, how applicable is your suggestion within the base?
Of course, if you don't want to featured at all you can send me a message and I'll make a note of it, we won't force anyone. :)

If such terrible name falls in, who cares! :)
But as Mechanical Engineers and Machine designer (and extra weird gadgets thinker) I would see myself as scientist staff... nevertheless I am now developing at work a machine as big as the Haunebu :o) it just won't fly :(..
Or my real name in Latin version: Leonardo Pinhel. Leonardo is always associated with brilliant genius capable superior minds :D Just, what is a Brazilian doing there, how was he convinced to coop with the nazi? Strange mysteries rounds Antarctica...
Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > Inspirational music > Der Klassiker Here you can post some songs (and music videos) you feel would be good inspirational material for our game design.
Youtube- and Spotify -links are fine, for example, but you can also just post the name of the song and the artist and I'll see if I can get my hands on it. I won't specify styles and it doesn't have to be directly related to the setting.
[Edit:]
As suggested by Angela, here's a link to a cooperative playlist on Spotify that you can add songs on for me to listen. :)

I strongly believe most of it must be classic music. It is "Open Source", It is od great quality and applications, and any German would listen to the great ones, what by the way is an infinity source. No Russians playing to the nazi..
Imagine the sonatas from Beethoven, the strong organs from Bach, the mathematics from Mozart. The strong military from Wagner...
