Cleaned up a bit to make room
| Posted November 25, 2009 by Timo Vuorensola 3 Thumb-ups |
Hi, all!
Some of you might notice I've closed a whole bunch of tasks for Iron Sky - that's due to the fact that I think many of them were more or less throughoutly discussed, and we had what we need. But more importantly, I closed them to make room for new tasks that are going to be popping up in the near future. So stay tuned - and thanks to everyone for hundreds of shots and thousands of comments, you guys and girls are really making this film happen!
Best,
Timo, Director.

Having the closed and open tasks lumped together was confusing, so it's better this way. I can't wait to see if my ideas will spawn new tasks.
That's the intention. Yes.
The shots aren't gone, they're just moved to the closed section. Hopefully they will be there forever so that people can see how the film developed.
Seppo and Oskar on the book topic: Yes, that definitively sounds like a good idea. I think it could be also very good idea to use some shots as part of the "Iron Sky Companion" book once it gets released - meaning, we have a character design or concept art of a location, and we can place shots in boxes around it to show what parts of it were community created.
Victor: Roadmap would be awesome. We actually tried to introduce one format some time ago, but it didn't work. We're working on trying to get some sort of a good roadmap feature in the future because that would definitively build up the feeling of participating into some specific part of the project, instead of just generally helping it, and would motivate people maybe even more (not that there would be problem with the lack of motivation - quite the contrary!).
But yes, we will be shooting film early 2010 in Frankfurt.
Actually i suppose there will still be enough stuff left for a making of,
yet there should have been some Shots of the creative process as well been done already.
(one could fake them afterwards, but that´s not quite the way it should be)
One question though: Will there be some kind of roadmap? So we can see where we can put our efforts in?
The only thing i know by now is: Shooting will take place 2010 in Germany...
is this still the case?
Sorry if i am too curious :-)

That is so true. By the way, i'd be interested of that book, and I think many more people could be, because that community involved in brainstorming the film together is a new model to many people who are interested in films and film making.
Yes, I know it's sort of a shame to lose the interesting shots and everything, but they are also crowding the task list, and since we know there's more stuff coming up we don't want to be buried under stuff that have been very productive and stuff where we have enough of shots already - so I decided to clear up a bit.
But the shots and the tasks are still in the "closed task" -section. Also, as the tasks are turning up, there's also a lot of tasks based on shots given earlier - so you will find out wether we've used your ideas on the "continuing" tasks - for example, with Earth Fleet. We will next go into more details, and your shots - if we've decided to use them - will be also mentioned there.
So no worries, just a bit of rearranging and making room :)
Whoa you cleaned the table. The thing is that the shots make me more interested in the movie than any ad campaign could because it will be nice to see what got in and what not and did any of my ideas get into it ...
If somebody is going to do a "making of" book he has lot of stuff to dig in here ...
Still waiting for more interesting tasks to pop-up ..
