Iron Sky > Earth Fleet radio communication > Canada Radio by: Richard Q
Just found out about this movie and this site recently. I hope It's not too late to submit a shot for the Canadian radio chatter.
Kept getting an error telling me the file type wasn't supported (tried both Wav and mp3) So I've instead emailed it directly.

Since it's still listed as being in Production rather than Post-Production I figured I'd still have a chance. No big deal. Though I do wish I'd heard of all this sooner :p

Yeah way too late, the film has been finished.
Just hoping they will screen it at the Sydney iMax... that would be awesome.
Iron Sky > General ideas > American moon landing 1969 by: Tim Parks
So the United States landed on the moon in 1969. In the movie did this happen too? or did it not happen? and if it did, did they see the Nazi's? thats probably my only question about the movie.
Also a cool teaser trailer to make before it comes out would be if there was a family in their yard (typical average stereotype of an american family) and there was a huge shadow over all of them and they look up and there are thousands of Nazi space ships invading earth. that would be so amazing!!!!

No Apollo landing officially documented ;-) Anything is possible in a movie .
Iron Sky > Nazi fleet radio communication > Nazi Fleet Radio Recordings This one goes to fluent German-speaking Iron Sky people - listen up!
We need some radio communication for the Nazi fleet as they are approaching the Earth orbit. Your task is to record the following lines (all of them, preferably, and we will pick the best) in German, in strict but calm military style.
The lines are:
"Hier spricht das Siegfried Flotten-Flagschiff Tannhäuser. Wir haben den Orbit erreicht und sind bereit für den Start der Walküren"
"Kriegsschiff Wolfram bereit für Angriff"
"Kriegsschiff Herrmann bereit für Angriff"
"Kriegsschiff Walther bereit für Angriff"
"Kriegsschiff Biterolf bereit für Angriff"
"Kriegsschiff Heinrich bereit für Angriff"
Delivery in mp3 (or other commonly used audio format) either as a shot to this task, or directly to me (timo@ironsky.net)
Because this is a Nazi fleet, we only need male voices for this one.
Danke Schön!!

As the task is still on the list and flaming (though the deadline was weeks ago), here are some more versions of the nazi fleet communication. All recordings were spoken by myself and directed by Mareen Kästner (both AnthroposFilms).
Our takes include the original lines (these files are marked with an 'O') as well as alternative text versions, based on contributions to this thread (marked with an 'A').
PS: After our recording session, I have just been listening to Thorsten Eicken's shot once again. It seems to me that the commander of the Biterolf ship has a tendency of developing a character of his own. He might deserve a spin-off ;-).
Iron Sky > Nazi fleet radio communication > what I think sounds best (and is correct)... by: Dirk Mengel
I am a native german speaker...
"Bereit für Angriff" is not really correct.
(check it in google: 421.000 hits for "bereit zum Angriff", 3000 only for "bereit für Angriff").
In my ears "Schlachtschiff" is the best term for the ships, as it sounds really old style german and much more brutal than "Krieg".
I would also use "Umlaufbahn" instead of "Orbit".
In my opinion correct and sounding best would be the following:
"Hier spricht das Siegfried-Flotten-Flaggschiff Tannhäuser. Wir haben die Umlaufbahn erreicht und sind bereit zum Start der Walküren"
"Schlachtschiff Wolfram - bereit zum Angriff"
"Schlachtschiff Herrmann - bereit"
"Schlachtschiff Walther klar zum Gefecht"
"Schlachtschiff Biterolf bereit zum Angriff"
"Schlachtschiff Heinrich - bereit"
> OR if all ships must give the same report:
"Schlachtschiff XXX: klar zum Gefecht !"
> just thought about a variant: "Hier spricht die Tannhäuser, Flaggschiff der Siegfried-Flotte..." - which would sound smoother - but I think it should not sound smoother - but exactly as in Thorsten von Eickens recording... I suggest to use it or ask him to re-record it according to your needs...)

I second the use of "Umlaufbahn" instead of "Orbit". As national socialists tried to purge words of Latin origin from the German language, Orbit (from Latin "orbita") would most likely have been replaced at some stage.
Iron Sky > Nazi fleet radio communication > Grammar? by: AM Helin
Please excuse me if this is the wrong place to mention this, but a friend of mine wondered the grammar a bit - in his words, "shouldn't it be 'bereit zum Angriff' or 'bereit für den Angriff'?".
Don't shoot the messenger, please. :)

I would say, "bereit für Angriff" passes as short for "bereit für den Angriff". It might even be preferable for the space nazis to use some slightly off language, given the fact that they have been living behind the moon for decades.
Iron Sky > Earth Fleet radio communication > Canada Radio It's another great day here in Münich, where we are currently working on putting finishing touches on the sound post production. And we need your help, again.
In this task, we need people of different nationalities, recording a short radio message we'll use in the film as part of a radio communication between the Earth fleet ships.
Here are the messages and nationalities needed:
BRITISH (WITH UK ACCENT!):
- British spaceship Spitfire joining battle.
and
- Spitfire reporting in; Trajectory set for Trans Lunar Injection Maneuver
CANADA:
- Hang in there, "W" (double-u), Canadarm3 joining the battle.
and
- Canadarm3 reporting, trajectory set for Trans Lunar Injection.
RUSSIA (with Russian accent, both IN RUSSIAN and IN ENGLISH with accent):
- MIR joining the battle
and
- Trajectory for Moon set. Ignition.
KOREA (In Korean and in English):
- Zerg 001 to 009 reporting in.
- Zerg 001 to 009, lunar trajectory set.
JAPAN (in Japanese and in English):
- BANZAI!!!
- Banzai reporting in, ready for trans lunar injection!
AUSTRALIA (With heavy Aussie accent)
- G'day mates, this is Australian ship Dundee-01, ready to kick ass! (or, if you can come up with better Aussie saying, much appreciated)
- Dundee-01 is ready and set for Trans-Lunar Injection!
ANY EUROPEAN (In English, accent visible):
- International Space Station joining the battle.
and
- International Space Station ready and set for Lunar approach.
INDIA (In English with Indian accent, and in Indian)
- Indian ship Katar joining the battle.
and
- Katar ready for Trans Lunar Injection.
DIRECTIONS:
- In order for us to be able to use your voice, you need to record it in calm military style. Anything too wild, or overacted, or otherwise bad won't unfortunately fit.
DELIVERY:
- Send via email to timo@ironsky.net or directly post here as a Shot. Quality doesn't need to be anything earthshattering, it's going to be reduced to radio jabber anyway.
CREDITS - PLEASE READ THIS!
Because we are so far in the production, there is a change that we may *not* be able to include your name in the end credits. This is due to the fact that end credits have already been created, and due to tight schedule, we may not be able to change them anymore. We *try* but can't *promise* name in the end credits because of this.
Thanks, guys! Let's push this monster of a film to it's well-deserved goal!

No Apollo lander ever landed on the far side of the moon. The 2 main reasons for that are, that the astronauts could not establish radio communication (and NASA could also not monitor anything) which would be much too risky.
And the visible side shows the large "mare" where the terrain is much smoother as on the back side..
All Apollo Command Modules established an orbit around the moon, so they could have seen Schwarze Sonne if they would have used telescopes and would have known where to look...
Iron Sky > General ideas > Some random object... by: Angela R.
Saw this pillow in a random Alpine shop and I could not help thinking that something like this would probably look pretty appropriate somewhere in the living room of an officer living in the nazi moon base.
