Nah... :)

Alternatively, you could go with:

"Ascolti bene. Il mio cannoniere abituale è in malattia, e non posso fare nulla con l'idiota che lo ha sostituito"

I had to make it like this:
0:27 Ascolti bene, Signor Controllore. Il mio cannoniere abituale è in malattia...
0:30 non sono in grado di fare nulla con l'idiota che lo ha sostituito.

I first tried to make it like this:
0:27 Ascolti bene...
non sono...

It's a line break, but I had to do it by adding two lines instead of one and splitting the text to them.

Angela R. November 11, 2010 18:17 Flag

Erhm... actually, it seems you managed to add a line break, at 00:27? I am confused...

Anyhow, it seems readable enough. So I will go ahead and share it. 8)

Done! None of the sentences are too long now. They are just hyper fast in some parts now... I'm speaking too fast in this film. I realised it just after we had completed making this. I'm going to be more patient in GPK 2.

I added line breaks to the subtitles and it didn't work. Youtube ignores them. I have to split those lines.

I have a good studio mic next to me, but it just feels so impossible to walk a meter, turn my mixer on, walk another meter to my computer, open script and audacity and press the red record button :P

Angela R. November 11, 2010 16:29 Flag

Oh, yeah. That one. I still have to record a couple of sentences, too. Problem is, I need a new microphone, and I keep forgetting to get one... *blush*

Don't say "if you had some spare time". I have decided to record my plingon role for the Stick Wreck on my free time and it's still waiting...

Angela R. November 10, 2010 18:40 Flag

Ah! Well, if you had some spare time to test whether it can be done, I think that the Italian viewers would highly benefit from it. 8)

Daniel Saarimäki November 10, 2010 17:20 Flag

I haven't tested. SE splits them by default. I have to check that and edit the subs a bit...

Angela R. November 09, 2010 20:20 Flag

Isn't there a way to split them on two lines, one above the other? I know that has been done with the Snowblind subs...

Daniel Saarimäki November 09, 2010 17:43 Flag

I used Subtitle Edit http://www.nikse.dk/se/

I noticed those long sentences. I can split them, but that will make the text to change really quickly. English sentences were a bit smaller. ;)

I see that contrary to Kalle, you did not have problems with the Italian accented letters. What program did you use for the subtitles conversion?

On the other hand, there seem to be problems with a couple of very long sentences which should probably be split in two lines.

If you could fix that, I will ensure I spread the word about about the video within the Star Trek Italian club. I am sure a lot of Star Wreck lovers there will love your creation. ^^'
