I've got a simple environment sketch ready that includes the rough levelling of the setup. It's on my school computer and WAM was down when I would have been able to upload it, but I'll try again as soon as I can.

Actually no news from this one O.o Almost forgot the project because I have had and will have a big stack of other things to do for some time. I will look at this again at some point. I'm really into Android coding now but I'm actually thinking about getting back to 3D soon and also finish that Warjammer -40k: Fail Warrior project with mixed 2D and 3D style.

battle : more epic, the better :) sounds nice. Allready had a Leviathan type enlightenment about the bacteria ..
The big zoom can be done in AE.

I would like to add a fighting scene to the animation just to show the full scale war between rodents and cocroaches and to test my skills with mass animation. I will find a way to make it zoom out fluently from the bacteria scene. The main characters would be on a some kind of upper level watching the war and the surroundings could show the mechanism of the ship (a single screw and a cogweel there and there).
I will, of course, animate the main characters first to avoid lagging.

Sorry, my login - problems continue.
I love the rodent. Looks like an anime character.
I'll hit some sketches about the scene ASAP.
I'm thinking aftereffects-effect for the bacteria. So we'll start with a close up on the rodent's back.
Flight of T.H.E. Leviathan > 3D : animation - pullback zoom > Environment This task is about the beauty of crossreference.
The animation starts with about x 3000 zoom to an epic battle (say Lotr-epic :) where bacteria are fighting the viruses.
The zoom pulls back (to about x 30 level) revealing that the bacteria are in a rust of a bolt.
Around the bolt there is an other epic battle between cockroaches, rodets and cock-rodents (a coss hybrid of them two.)
On top of the bolt there is a cock-rodent and a cockroach lovers. They embrace the forbidden love between eachother, when they stumble into a black monolith 1 x 4 x 9 in diameter.
The cockroach gets curious and touches the monolith. The Monolith feeds information to the cockroach and the cockroach faints.
The cockrodent thinks he died and she jumps off the cliff (The bolt edge).
The cockroach wakes up and discovers that his love has committed suicide, invents an atombomb-type device (with the help of the monolith) and detonates it.
Huge blast demolishes everything at it's path.
The zoom pulls back revealing that it is the bolt that holds together one of T.H.E. Leviathans outer hull panels. A tiny puff and a small panel is blown off from the side of T.H.E. Leviathan into the space.
Thus begins the epic battle the movie is about.

Both characters are ready now and here's a small animation made with the rodent. I begin to make the scene of this animation but I think we have to leave that bacteria thing out...
