Hi Abdul! Welcome to Wreckamovie... :) Just to explain, this isn't really the kind of site where you recruit people. The way it works is you post something you specifically need done, and then people volunteer to do it. That's how the Star Wreck films were made, which is what led them to create Wreckamovie so other people could do it too. Of course if you want to you can contact people directly through the WAM messaging system and offer them a role in your production, but that's not what the Tasks system is for. I know it's a bit of a weird concept but it works quite well once you get used to it. :) If you want help with something, just post a Task (and you're most likely to get help when you make it as specific as possible). Abdul, honestly, this isn't the right site to talk about payment and money. :) Wreckamovie is about film-making and co-operation, people don't worry about getting paid on here. A lot of us are professionals too, many of us have jobs in various media industries, but when we post on Wreckamovie we don't ask for money.

Abdul, I can see we might have misunderstood each other. :)

Wreckamovie isn't a recruitment site, it's a collaborative film-making site.

For example, my Landing script needed a design for a spaceship, so I posted a task describing the ship in great detail, based on the script.

This task received several design responses, including some rather excellent rendered videos, all for free:

It's very much the same kind of spirit you see in the open source software world, everyone does a little bit and gets to be part of some greater whole.

That's how Star Wreck was made, no one got paid but they got to be part of an amazing film.

And if you build up a good reputation you may even get some commercial job offers later, but that's something you would do outside Wreckamovie.

New task: CGI Modellers - First Ark to Alpha Centauri

You will be required to produce life like 3D animations of an interstellar ark starship I have invented, named the 'Centauri Princess'. You can get more info on it by going to website http://firstarktoalphacentauri.wikia.com/wiki/Centauri_Princess

You will have prior experience of 3D modelling for films or video games using many techniques like 3D rendering and computer simulation of physical phenomena, such as cloud movements, effect of sweeping breezes on water and tree leaves, freeflight of birds, etc.

Computer generated imagery is needed to model both the exterior and interior of the 'Centauri Princess' to fully bring it to life on a cinema screen in the motion picture First Ark to Alpha Centauri about to be made.

Payment details:

I know I shouldn't say anything about money here, as this is only a friendly forum where people help out on movie productions on inspiration alone... but CGI is probably an expensive skill, judging from everything I heard so far.
So...
You will be paid some cash up front, plus up to 5% of the movie net profits on a deferred basis

Well put, Kris. And I think that First Ark to Alpha Centauri sounds like the kind of production that would get a lot of wreckers to participate.

An O'Neil cylinder colony is designed to work inside our own solar system, in near Earth and near Sun space, by taking advantage of light from the Sun for functioning of the biosphere colony. This Centauri Princess ark, on the other hand is an insterstellar bound craft that I personally hand crafted back in 2004: http://www.astroscience.org/abdul-ahad/firstarktoalphacentauri/interstellar-propulsion.htm This makes it very difficult to create the curved interior of specific (6 x 9 mile) proportions... which is where the CGI expertise comes into its own and I really hope I can get help from all you experts out there :)

Looks like you intend the ark to be something similar to an O'Niell cylinder?

I tried to draw the insides of one ones. I gave up after a while, figuring out how the perspective worked was giving me a splitting headache...

Typically you will get more people to pay attention and help you if you post specific tasks. Instead of asking for CGI modellers you might want to ask for a specific space ship design for example. Wreckers will help you when they know what you need help with.
