Done and deal, good luck!

New task: Fundraising advice

We're moving into full-on fundraising mode as we enter pre-production for DOLLS, and we're looking for advice from any short film makers out there on where we can look for private funding or sponsorship.

Have any experience with crowd-funding sites like IndieGoGo or Sponsume? We'd love any tips on advice on how to drive people to our fundraising pages and get them to sponsor the project!

Gone the private sponsorship route? How do we find private investors or sponsors and let them know about the film?

Product placement and corporate sponsorship: we'd love to get some local companies and organisations involved in the film. We're a local production heavily involved with the local filmmaking community, and we want to extend this to our business contacts, but don't know who to approach or what to tell them about the project.

Any advice people can offer on this would be much appreciated :)

Emma O'Sullivan created a new production "DOLLS"

DOLLS is an ambitious short film with a very strong distinctive style. It's strongly inspired by the work of Jan Svankmeyer and Tim Burton, combining stop motion animation and live action with Victorian England inspired colours, costumes, characters and the darkness of Bolex Brothers. It will look stunning, sound amazing and stay in your heart!

The story is about the adventures of a human doll and her companions, three Teddies (three stop motion puppets). Doll lives with them in an old Victorian house, isolated from the world. One day, she receives a mysterious note through the post and despite the attempts of the Teddies to stop her, she decides to leave the house, seeking what's promised in the letter (still unknown to the audience). The magical outside world is menacing and dangerous (an old beggar; a boy that turns in to a crow; a golden beach and evil rag dolls). Will Doll and her friends succeed in their quest? What was in the note?

Writer & Lead Actress: Elena Saorin is an Italian actress and writer who's trained and worked in the UK for the past 10 years. (Credits:
