Chew TV > Analyse Chew TV site > and the site is...?
by: Anna Pekuri

I agree with Paul. Also I think that the first thing that a person going to your site should see is something more about your site (what is it, what does it do etc.). For me personally it didn't give any kind of idea what site did I stumble on. It looked very similar to youtube (or any other site where you can upload your own homemade videos) and I believe that it's not quite what you are after(?). The message that this is a tv (and what ever other message you want to convey) should be stronger and more clear in my opinion. I also though that there was way too much clutter on the first page.

Hi Anna Thank you so much for your thoughts and I agree with your comments. It can be hard to not clutter up the homepage when we're offering so many opportunities as well as some great films to be watched, we just want to get it all out there but I think you're right. We may need to simplify things a bit :) Chew TV is the UK's first Web TV Channel run by and for young people, that allows anyone to watch free short films and videos online, whilst providing a place for young media enthusiasts to showcase their own work (for free of course). This is our offer, and it's a pretty good one so thanks for pointing it out to us that we aren't making it clear. We definitely have to work on this... :) In the meantime, please feel free to check out some films, essentially it's all about the content and they are some impressive films on the Channel at the moment. Cheers Max

Chew TV > Analyse Chew TV site > Whoa, steady on there.
by: Paul Day

I arrive at the home page and already there's some film waiting to play itself into my face. Personally, I find this sort of thing a bit much and it makes me want to get out. Nothing personal, even the BBC website seems determined to churn audio/video at the drop of a hat, but I'd prefer a home page that explained what it was all about, rather than one that immersed me in it regardless. Good luck.

Hi Paul, thanks so much for the positive criticism. It can be hard not to take this type of feedback to heart but it is greatly appreciated. We've all toyed with the idea of having a welcome page at the front, so we definitely will be looking into this with the re-design. Cheers again Max :)
