Chasing The Dead uhhmm Car?

Posted September 18, 2009 by Eddie Edwards 0 Thumb-ups

First off, this is one of those moments when the whole crew is gathered and ideas flying around and then suddenly someone says: Hey guys! Anyone seen "Ghostbusters" in a while?

And so we decided, we at NLPS also need a ghost hunting car! It just so happens we found it at my front porch. Now, its not exactly the Ecto1 () but hey! Its still a big old american station wagon! So we decided to bring a little militia attitude to the whole thing and painted it with camouflage paint. We also played with the idea having it taped with a few catchy punch lines along with our name and website!

So fellow wreckers! If you want to be part of Finnish ghost hunting history, here is your chance to immortalize your punchline on the first Ghost Hunting vehicle in Scandinavia!

Erm... wouldn't this work better as a task rather than a news item? :-)

News from the editing room!

Posted September 18, 2009 by Eddie Edwards 0 Thumb-ups

Just recently, we returned from our editing room with satisfied faces. We have cut down the investigation part of the show into three pieces and it finally starts to make sense. A huge challenge in a project like this is (especially when we strictly go by the fear is real concept) is the editing part of the investigations.

Now, as we mentioned, we are three investigators. Maz, who specializes in the technical equipment and is also a skeptic. Christopher, who likes to provoke and usually tries to contact a spirit by its name. Myself, who "leads" the show and is sort of the nutty professor who tries all kinds of different methods to reach our common goal. These are just a few things that separates us in a good way because we don't think that three true believers is the solution for a good show. Unless its soap opera. We also perform our investigations separately, which means we are all alone in the dark with our professional cameraman. There for, we have a great opportunity to make friendly "conflicts" and create a little drama. So, from each location there will be at least three different investigations which means we can"sweep" the place more effectively and get different footage.

As the three different investigations are starting to take their form, we now move on to the other parts of the show. As much as we "enthusiasts" would like to see 90% paranormal footage and 10% proof in each episode, we have to concentrate on other vital things such as history and other peoples paranormal experiences. These we have filmed plenty of each location so far so we should be good!

Until next time, take care & stay scared!

Exactly! And since there are a thousand different theories about paranormal spirits this is a great way to exchange our personal experiences of each haunted location. We also had difficulty's at first, because we all wanted to be in front of the camera at the same time and so on but as we discovered this hunter+camera man combination, we think its a logical solution. As long as each and everyone interacts with the audience.

"These are just a few things that separates us in a good way because we don't think that three true believers is the solution for a good show."

Definitely. Having three different view points is good for viewers because it gives everyone a person to empathise with.

Intro for Chasing the Dead show

This is sort of a teaser for the trailer. We wanted to post this because this is the first actual edited footage that we have put together and it played out quite well. We don't want to post this short clip on youtube so we're linking it from New Land Pictures website instead.
The actual trailer for our show is already in the making and that however will be posted on youtube.
Until then enjoy this little tease :)

The pilot episode

Posted September 06, 2009 by Eddie Edwards 0 Thumb-ups

The basic structure of the episode is finished and we're at the editing stage. This will take a while because of the fact that this is the pilot and it has to set the bar for the rest of the episodes. Once we have the pilot done, future investigations will be much easier to film as well as planning and editing. This type of series is good example of "learning by doing" the more investigations we film, the more professional we become.

Intro

Posted September 06, 2009 by Eddie Edwards 0 Thumb-ups

An intro for our show Chasing the Dead is now edited and will soon be posted here on wreckamovie and other sites!

The Finnish power metal band Olympos Mons has made a truly catchy theme song for our show. It was also the singer Ian Eric Highhill who came up with the name Chasing the Dead for it happens to be the title of the song!

We also think that the intro can be seen as a small teaser for our upcoming pilot episode.
