Short update

Posted January 03, 2011 by Jeremy Naus 0 Thumb-ups

First of all I want to wish you all a Happy New Year.

Well it's been very, very quiet on this project. Althought I haven't posted in months, I'm still having the project in the back of my mind.

But I hope this new year will bring some changes. My personal life is again up and running ;-), and my other projects are also going well.

So what I want to do is do some location scouting in the near future (within the coming 2 months). And maybe shoot one small mockup of the scenario idea's to see what works the best.

Everybody is welcome to provide some feedback or give a helping hand.

Cheers,

Jeremy

And back again :-)

Posted February 17, 2010 by Jeremy Naus 1 Thumb-up

Due to personal problems I had to step back a bit from this project.
I'm back and will do some location scouting on those locations that I posted earlier.
Will keep you people informed.

In the meantime don't be afraid to discuss stuff here.

Best regards,

Jer'm

Locations found for the filming

Posted November 16, 2009 by Jeremy Naus 1 Thumb-up

You gotta love Belgium (the country I live in) :-)

We have such an inefficient government that there are areas where they started building a highway or such and then ended the project.
Result: a bridge in the middle of nowhere.

The advantage is for project like A New Dawn they provide an excellent location for filming.

Here are some links to give you people an idea:

* http://www.nuttelozewerken.nl/werken.htm?werk=106 (at the end of real highway lies an unfinished bridge)
* http://www.9lives.be/forum/blogs/epyon/162-belgie-absurdistan.html (2 finished bridge in the middle of nowhere)
* http://www.nuttelozewerken.nl/werken.htm?werk=100 (bridge over a canal but no roads lead to it)
* http://mivbreiziger.skynetblogs.be/post/5976736/metro-leger-de-charleroi-of-wat-ervan-overbli (a never used metro)

I believe these locations are superb for A New Dawn, don't you think?

PS: test shoot went ok, I'll need some work though to make something out of the shot clips :-)

and those 2 bridges in the middle of nowhere would make a nice "gate" to the "New Dawn"

A friend of mine knew one location and she found the others with a bit of googling.
I especially like the never finished metro. I think that's a perfect place to make the camp of the ‘Scripts :-)

Amazing locations! How did you found those?

Highway in Belgium will be closed for a whole weekend

Posted October 12, 2009 by Jeremy Naus 0 Thumb-ups

From 30 October at 21h till 3 November 6h a highway in Belgium will be closed (E313).
Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity to do some filming? A deserted highway and there our hero (or others) walking around?

So all who are in Belgium during that weekend and are willing to help out let us know.

Will do. I'll also see if I can get a couple of people in the scene. We can at least use it as a test to get a feel of the world.

I'll see that I find some 'trash' to drop on the highway (and take home afterwards :-) ) to fill the scene a bit.

If nothing else, since there's no crew yet, then perhaps atleast some 'panoramas' of the deserted world?

Some shots of quiet, empty roads/towns/villages etc. could be nice for the intro (I'm planning a little voice-over for it..) but those could also be usable for later purposes, depending on how they fit the final scenery..

And back in action

Posted October 09, 2009 by Jeremy Naus 0 Thumb-ups

I apologise for the silence of late. But I had a project at work that needed a lot of my attention (even my vacation was cancelled) and I had a private event that I had to run.
All the hectic times are now behind me so I can again pay attention to A New Dawn.
I'll be going through all shots and start putting other people in charge alongside me on the project.
You'll hear more frequently again from me :-)

Best regards,

Jeremy
