The trick to a good key is often masking various areas and keying slightly different shades rather then trying to get it all in one go. also a lesson to for next time is to have them take a step or two forward and loose the shadows.

I think the lighting is alright... but it looks like there was some veeeery evil sharpening done in-camera... looks almost like double-edges! What kind of camera did you use?

Thanks. Fortunately, Adobe Ultra perfectly handles all unwanted shadows so that's not a problem but unappropriate lightning was our big fault. And as you said, that will be the lesson for the next time :-)

There was a lot of fun for kids during shooting of greenscreen parts of 5+TV Promo clip. They had a chance to see themselves during a session in realtime preview so they were able to correct their standing and moving positions. Well, a harder part comes: the editing. I tried to make 1st and 2nd part of clip and I have some keying problems, obviously because of unappropriate lighting. Must admit that we are absolute rookies in amateur greenscreening because this was our very first attempt to do something with two 500 W industrial halogen reflectors and one 100 W halogen light on camera. Srecko and me (the "fathers" of 5+TV) were feeling like Samuli and Timo in 1999. when first Star Wreck tests was made. But unfortunately, we haven't enough time to experiment. Does someone have any advice for keying? Possible corrections in AE? Just a single word from Master Samuli perhaps? :-)

Some people asked about the first clip from 1979. This is the first amateur video recording of School show in Ex-Yugoslavia. Actually the first Ex-Yu CCTV started in Nikola Tesla Elementary school in 1978. and that first recording is also saved but someone recently lost the tape I used for the first 5+TV Main intro in 2007. Yesterday we realized where it is and it will be shown to the audience in somekind of "retro" show. In 1979 I was a middle school student. I remember we did that recording with this one: http://www.rewindmuseum.com/images3/1500eject.gif ...and with two B/W cameras: http://www.rewindmuseum.com/images3/philipsv100.jpg ...connected via DIY 2-inputs video switcher which then caused big problems with synchro but wait: it was 1979 and we were pure amateurs :) OMG, does anybody remember that old VCR video recorders??

Ahhh, our N1500 was stolen along with all...I mean ALL other equipment for radio and TV broadcast in Xmas Eve of 1992 (late night School robbery). Nothing has ever found and everything stops until 1997. But I also remember that unit has 2-track sound, Audio Dub, Insert and funny kind of Still: press and hold the button :-)

Here is a slightly different approach and that's my first attempt to do something in Adobe Premiere CS5 (I have never work with it before). You may notice that I changed a few shots and add two more, thanks to Sasa Dugonjic who adviced me about a faster cross-events in intro. I hope I'm near the final version :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY0uZX-0fcI Sorry for video twitching but I'm living in a world where my Net provider is suspicious about big upload of about 126 MB (breaks my Net connection!) so first I had to make a 7 MB WMA for upload into Youtube :-(
