Despite warnings by her mother, a descendant of a supreme extra-terrestrial being gets lost on a cosmic swimming trip between the stars. Stranded on Earth she has no material body and can interact with her surroundings only by possessing another life form. Through a series of encounters she slowly works her way to increasingly more powerful beings in order to get back in touch with her mother behind the stars.
The transfer of her essence or soul to another being is only realized when she looks deep into the eyes of the next potential avatar. Her avatars during a road trip like adventure include a random group of human beings and perhaps even a few animals. Once possessed, the avatars start behaving in uncharacteristic ways, often starting to subtly contemplete their real purpose in life.
Finally she ends up in the body of a mountaineer who climbs to the top of a mountain and glances up to the sky not really knowing why there was an irresistable urge to climb to this particular mountain at this particular time. The spiritual connection between the mountaineer and the sun allows her alien soul to transfer directly to the sun, which is also a life form in her eyes. Finally she has a powerful enough incarnation so that her aethereal mother is able to see where the little baby got lost on that innocent little swimming trip.
This short film aims for a visually poetic look and feel with not a lot of dialogue. The film will be shot in HD and will feature a surround sound mix. The distribution is for web only and the tentative premiere date is Fall 2010.
