New Land Paranormal Society (NLPS) presents: Chasing The Dead.
Chasing The Dead is going to be a TV/Web series about ghost hunting. Documentary style.
Ghost Hunting. As we speak, there is a sort of boom out there in the world that involves this sort of subject. There are some TV-series out there with the same concept but, nothing similar to ours. For quite a while we at NLPS, have wanted to break into the world of Ghost Hunting professionally. When we realized the possibilities of haunted locations around us and not only in our country but throughout Scandinavia, we decided it was time to give this sort of thing a try. And so far, it has paid off great. A few locations has already been investigated and documented with good results and they just keep coming. People seem to have caught up on our idea pretty quickly once we got the word around here in the southern parts of Finland.
A big difference to us and the program is the variety of haunted locations. Finland is stacked with ancient castles and so on, but the variety steps in when people actually notices paranormal activities in their everyday home, or modern buildings. Scandinavia is also unknown to the rest of the world when it comes to paranormal locations. The fact that Finland itself is a dark and melancholic country is a great thing for us, but we will most certainly not stop there. As soon as we get this thing put in motion financially we can visit places like Sweden, Denmark, and Norway for example, they are countries with many interesting and historical places. A great thing about our crew is the variety of languages we speak. This is important because many of the Scandinavian countries have been ruled by each other throughout times and there for, in many locations around Finland for example, the language spoken during the active days have been Swedish. We at NLPS don´t believe in such as going to a foreign country and performing the actual investigation in English. It is important to respect the language spoken during the active days if you actually want to capture something.
Chasing The Dead separates in many ways from other programs in this genre. Mostly because we trust in reality. It is quite harsh to say but most of the programs out there on the market are so far from a reality sort of documentary that they possible could be. All our camera techniques, lighting and methods of investigating is on a whole new level of Ghost Hunting. The basics are of course the same such as equipment and possible evidence. Then again, we don`t have a big camera crew following us around all the time so there is most certainly a sort of fear never before seen.
The NLPS crew in front of the camera is going to be the three founding fathers of the team: Christopher Marins, Maz Nylund and myself. We are the investigators and the ones that brings Ghost Hunting to a whole new level. Each of us have very different methods and thoughts involving the world of the paranormal. This is also great for the drama. Because every show needs a little drama and the more different the characters in front of the camera are, the more exciting the program gets. The viewers can easily find their favorite investigator and so on. Our postions in the crew:
Myself : Lead Investigator
Christopher: Investigator
Maz: Tech Manager
We wish to accomplish as much attention and contacts as possible. Sponsors are vital for us to succeed so that is going to be a big priority in the nearby future. A wide range of professional equipment and as many locations as we can find is another thing on our list. But as for right now: to get the Pilot out as soon as possible and from there on create a pattern for future episodes. We have strong faith in what we do and hope that it will not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.
Our main goal is to investigate, not to exorcise. And that is a firm rule we live by.
So any fellow wreckers out there with this type of interest or ideas? Bring it on! This will be our main goal right now so the movie projects will be put on ice for a while!
