CULTURE HACKER: Moving Filmmakers to a Transmedia Business Model

Posted December 22, 2009 by Peter Vesterbacka 4 Thumb-ups

I think this is a very good and thought provoking article about some of the emerging models for film making. Very relevant for us here on Wreckamovie and to indie film makers all over the planet. I especially liked Robert's comment on collaboration and Wreckamovie:

"Collaboration platforms like Wreckamovie are going to save the indie."

And feel free to comment on the site, I already did;-)

Latest activity view

Posted December 17, 2009 by Peter Vesterbacka 2 Thumb-ups

You have probably noticed that we managed to get the activity stream live finally. The more link is back next to the Latest activity box on the front page. This is a bit of a quick fix, much better than what we used to have (remember the not so useful list of the 4 latest activities at a time), but we are going to make it much better.

Please play around with the Latest Tasks, Latest Activities, Latest News views and let us know what would make these better for you. Also, what do you want to have on the front page, what in MyWreck and what is missing currently from your perspective?

We will not get too many new features done this year, but we are pretty happy with the tuning we've done of the existing features, so next year we'll get to work on some major new functionality. And it's about time too;-)

Good Wrecking and Happy Holidays!

We'll look into the animations. I don't think most wreckers spend much time on the front page, so mostly it affects new users, and I think the animations work OK for getting the attention. Of course it can be annoying if you spend a lot of time on the front page.
As always, work in progress, and we'll keep making the front page better as well.

About the front page: Loose the animations!

Make small collages instead.

Thanks! The guys are doing a great job with development, really looking forward to 2010 as I expect to see some really cool new productions on here making use of the new features. And Wreckamovie would be nothing without all the wonderful wreckers like yourself.

:-)

*smiles* Happy Holidays to the development team as well! Great job as always, thanks for offering us this marvelous platform to play with!

Small update to news feed, MyWreck

Posted December 12, 2009 by Peter Vesterbacka 7 Thumb-ups

Just made another new release of Wreckamovie live. There's some smaller updates this week, we are trying to get a few more done before the end of the year.

There's now a new and improved news feed, just click on More on the front page and you will get to it: http://www.wreckamovie.com/news

We have also added the capability to hide all comments, it's not everywhere yet, but it will be there over the next few days.

And as always there's been a few fixes here and there behind the scenes, killing a few bugs and trying to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Keep the feedback coming.

Happy wrecking!

The latest activities will get a new activity stream view, the guys didn't quite get that finished for this update, it's coming soon though.

Looks good. Is this listing -feature going to be available for "latest activities" too?
