Babel Fiche is a video archive, collecting and remixing fragments of footage from around the Earth. It's a visual museum for future humans to somehow translate.
Contemporary video clips, which describe our everyday life, will be stored frame-by-frame on a set of colour microfiche plates, capable of a 500-year lifespan.

We will produce a series of short films by animating these stored frames. Microfiche only requires a simple light source and lens to expand its contents. How would future human beings use these media to reinterpret our contemporary world?
Babel Fiche is an open-source community of collaboration and dialogue. Discussion will be as important as the eventual films.
Babel Fiche wonders if it’s possible to resolve a coherent film under these social conditions.
