Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > 1940s German warning and guide signs > Movement of the wounded We already have a task on posters, now we need 1940s -style warning and guide signs - all kinds of plaques the Nazis would have on the walls of the corridors of their Antarctic military base. We are looking for both reference photographs and your original designs - just remember to mention which category your shot falls in and whether you are the author or somebody else.
The signs in the base are less than 10 years old so original designs shouldn't be too rusty, but may show some signs of wear (scratches etc). If you include text, it should be in German - you can get translation help from others right here in the task.
Feel free to submit your design as original artwork, photographs of genuine signs or just as an idea list of sign potential texts and subjects.
The first level we're needing them for is the Hospital / Medical Research floor so all kinds of guide signs related to that are extremely helpful at this point. In the future, however, we will be needing all kinds of signs so feel free to offer whatever you can think of.

Here's a useful bit of information provided by Philippe Van den Berge:

By the way, while looking for a proper font to use, I found out there was this DIN 1451 typeface that was standardised by the Deutsches Institut für Normung ( hence DIN = German Institute for Standardization) and approved for all technical uses. It's a free font that can be downloaded at your favorite font providing sites.
Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_1451
There is even a stenciled version of it, wich I can imagine would be appropriate for those 'texts on the wall' stuff the Nazi used. It's called: DIN schablonierschrift.

Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > References and concept art > Lexicon on the Wehrmacht In this task you can post any reference pictures (photographs, art, sketches, blueprints,...) of WWII/1940s and older objects, buildings, people and whatever you can think of that could fit the concept of a secret Nazi military research base in the Antarctica.
We've been getting a bunch of great photographs and other references in the General ideas task already, but I wanted to add a separate task for this because these can be quite handy for us. Hunting for references is always time away from modeling and designing, so this is very helpful indeed!
Some categories that are really great to have are:
* Furniture
* Military facilities and bunkers
* Vehicles
* Mundane items such as tools and utensils
* Scientific instruments
Please include source links for pictures that are not of your own creation - these are used just for reference, but it's still cool to know where the pics came from. Also, if you know of a site with lots of good pics, you can just post a link to that site (preferably directly to the gallery of pics).
Iron Sky: Operation Highjump > 1940s German warning and guide signs > 4-year growing plan by: Carl Voluntaryist
Cliparts are from openclipart.org I just don't have the time to link direct sources right now.
I had a list ready when the power shut off due to a leaky roof. I also had to redo half the picture because of this.
I'll find and post them later.

Wasn't quite sure where to put this link, so might just as well put this here.

Found this interesting documentary about peacetime nazi television. Of course everyone has seen a hundred documentaries about nazis, but I thought this particular one could be useful as there's probably some amount of non-military personnel as well, it shows (what the nazis wanted to portray as) national socialist lifestyle, mannerism, etc.

This task is a fine place for this! Also, the General ideas & suggestions task is a place where you can post things that don't seem to fit elsewhere.
This looks like interesting reference, I'll have to watch it asap. :)
